Botox is a safe injectable purified protein that when injected very superficially into facial muscles causes temporary relaxation, ridding the face of wrinkles due to muscle contraction. The areas typically treated include the brow (between the eyebrows), the forehead, and the crow's feet wrinkles around the eyes. Dr Jepson's favorite filler for deep facial wrinkles and facial recontouring due to it's versatility, it's duration, and it's ability to stimulate your own natural collegen prodution. It can be used to fill in the deep lines between the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), to fill in the lines underneath the mouth (marionette lines), to fill the hollow areas under the eyes, and to reduce the lower cheek wrinkles. It can be injected in the upper cheek area to offer a lifting effect. It can also be used as a nonsurgical cheek implant and for a nonsurgical nose-job. It is the primary filler that Dr. Jepson uses for the the Non-Surgical or Liquid Facelift. Radiesse is composed of calcium hydroxyapatite. This is a chemical that already exists naturally in your body and so there are never any allergic reactions. It offers immediate filling of the wrinkles, similar to Restylane, but with a longer lasting effect. It will generally last for about 1-1.5 years.
Restylane and Juvederm are injectable forms of hyaluronic acid. They have replaced collagen as the material of choice for lip enhancement & restoration. Their affects can be expected to last anywhere from 4-8 months. They can also be used to fill in deeper facial wrinkles, too (but they don't last as long as Radiesse). Local anesthetics and nerve blocks are used, making the procedure virtually painless.
